Bright, modern living room in an apartment for sale

We compared viewing-request rates across several hundred listings published by our partner agencies. The gap between the best and the worst almost never comes down to price. It comes down to the first photo.

The first image does 80% of the work

A buyer scrolling through a portal doesn’t read the description before deciding whether to click. The cover photo needs to tell the story of a room, not just show it: natural light, an angle that gives a sense of depth, and above all no trace of everyday clutter to distract the eye.

Three mistakes we still see too often

  1. Shooting at the end of the day, once natural light is gone

  2. Leaving personal items in view, which stops buyers from picturing themselves in the space

  3. Publishing only one photo per room, without showing how the spaces flow into each other

None of this requires a professional photographer for every listing. Five minutes of preparation before shooting is usually enough to completely change the final result.
